Off the grid in Swartland.

Craig and Carla Hawkins live their lives in peace while making natural wine in Swartland on the Western Cape in South Africa. They lent money from their family to start the project, where they bought an old estate with no electricity and started making wine. With little money, they are doing most of the work themselves and what wines they are creating.

The farm is called Banditskloof and is located on the slopes of the Olifantsberg mountain on the edge of the Swartland region. The parcels are located at an altitude between 350-480 m, and these gentle breezes keep the grapes fresh and acidic.
