2018 La Fleur Garderose
This wine is made from the best parcels of the Chateau Belregard estate. Aged in cement for one year with no oak creates an ultimate freshness. Dark fruit flavours, plenty of minerality and fine tannins make this an excellent wine for the table. The wine goes through a week of cold maceration, and fermentation starts with natural yeasts. The wine is aged for about 18 months with a combination of barrels then bottled without filtration. The Pueyo family, since 2012, started making dramatic changes in their wine house. They decided to stop using small barrels, and their production became organic. What makes them great producers is also the quality of their grapes. The result is a concentrated wine with blackcurrant and plum flavours followed by a pronounced minerality. A fantastic example of "left bank" Bordeaux!
