2019 Mtsvane

One of Georgia’s most ancient wine grapes. It makes high-quality wines with characteristics of peach, blossoms, and minerals.

Destemmed and left on skins for two weeks. The ferment is in qveveri (aka kvevri or churi) with native yeasts. It has a lifted nose: spice, nuts, herbs, & tropical aromas. The palate is plump, dry and vibrant—hints of tea and a touch of grip on the finish. 

If you want orange wine from the oldest wine region in the world, then this is the one; this is where it all began, so it is a great history lesson on the origins of skin-contact wines.
