Hepple Spirits are based in Northumberland National Park on the border between England and Scotland. Here they do things a little differently than most other distilleries. Making a bottle of Hepple takes 5 times as long as a conventional bottle of gin! At Hepple, the classic distillation in heated copper boilers has been supplemented with vacuum distillation and a process called "supercritical extraction." This rather complicated technique allows Hepple to extract flavours from the ingredients without them being "cooked" and changing taste. The result is a gin that tastes as fresh and powerful as if you were standing in the middle of the juniper bush!
The gin has aromas of green junipers, rain-soaked coniferous forests, coriander seeds, and citrus peel. The flavour is dense, concentrated, and full of complexity based solely on the taste of juniper. It has perfect balance and has an oily mouthfeel that is intense and aromatic. Enjoy the gin on its own, with tonic or your favourite cocktail.
